  • We’ve been able to do a massive upgrade on our hotel in Madrid for five nights, at no additional cost. Instead of staying at the Gran Melia Fenix, we are now staying at the stunning Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid!

Itinerary - October 20-29, 2023

DAY ONE – Friday, October 20 – Arrivals in Stockholm

Independent arrivals at Stockholm International Airport. You’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel where your room will be waiting for immediate check-in at the beautiful Grand Hôtel. Welcome cocktails followed by dinner at the hotel.

DAY TWO – Saturday, October 21 – Stockholm

Enjoy breakfast at leisure. This morning we’ll begin with a presentation/lecture by the one-and-only Peter Trippi, Editor-In-Chief, of Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, who will regale us on all things art focused in Stockholm. Next, depart for our first full day of exploration in Stockholm. Our visits will include The Royal Palace, Nationalmuseum, and Svens-Harrys Art Museum. Lunch is included at a local restaurant. Tonight dinner is on your own. We’ll give you recommendations for some of the best eateries in Stockholm.

DAY THREE – Sunday, October 22 – Stockholm

After breakfast, we’ll regroup and head off for another wonderful day of all things art related. Today we’ll focus on local galleries, an auctioneer & the studio of a painter. Stops will include Åmells Gallery, Bukowskis fine auction house & the studio of famous Swedish painter Alexander Klingspor. We’ll break for an independent lunch at the restaurant of your choice. After a full day of amazing touring, we’ll head out for a traditional Swedish dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY FOUR – Monday, October 23 – Stockholm

And just like that, today is our last full day in beautiful Stockholm. After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll commence our expedition of Stockholm. We’ll spend our time on the island of Djurgarden. Some of the venues today include Thielska Galleriet, Prins Eugens Art Museum & the small but surely lovely Rosendal Palace. We’ll lunch together during the tour and then you’ll have time for independent exploration. You might want to consider visiting either the Vasa Museum or the fun and not to be missed Abba Music Museum. Your last night in Stockholm will be dinner on your own. Perhaps gather with some of your traveling companions for dinner at a local restaurant or have a quiet night alone.

DAY FIVE -Tuesday, October 24 – Stockholm to Madrid

It’s time to say goodbye to Stockholm, Sweden and Hola to Madrid, Spain. Enjoy breakfast and a morning at leisure before check-out and transfer to Stockholm Airport. Our flight to Madrid will be: Iberia Airlines #3315 departs Stockholm at 2:50 PM, arriving in Madrid at 6:55 PM, nonstop (4-hour flight time). Economy class airfare is included in your package. 

Upon arrival in Madrid, transfer to the Mandarin Oriental Ritz, our home-away-from-home for the next five (5) nights. After settling in, we’ll go out for our first Spanish dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY SIX – Wednesday, October 25 – Madrid

After breakfast, we’ll once again gather for a lecture by Peter Trippi, this time focusing on the splendid city of Madrid. Next, we set off for a full-day visit to the gem of Madrid, the spectacular Museo Nacional del Prado. Enjoy lunch at the cafe located inside the museum. By the end of the visit, we will certainly have a much better understanding of why this is one of the world’s leading art museums! Return to our hotel this evening for a well-deserved rest. Enjoy a night of room service or step right outside of our hotel to enjoy dinner at one of many fantastic restaurants within walking distance.

DAY SEVEN – Thursday, October 26 – Madrid

Start the morning with breakfast at leisure. With so much to see and do in Madrid, we’ll set off for another exciting full day of touring. Today we’ll spend time at the following venues; Sorolla Museum to enjoy works by Joaquín Sorolla, the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum, San Fernando Fine Art Royal Academy, and Museo Lázaro Galdiano. Time permitting, we’ll make another stop or two. Today lunch will be on your own during the tour. This evening gather with your friends for a traditional dinner and Flamenco show!!

DAY EIGHT – Friday, October 27 – Madrid

Enjoy breakfast before we head out on a full-day excursion to one of the suburbs of Madrid, San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Today we’ll focus our attention on the Palace and Monastery of El Escorial. The building is the most important architectural monument of the Spanish Renaissance. Construction of El Escorial began in 1563 and ended in 1584. Lunch is included during the tour. After a long but rewarding day of sightseeing, return to the hotel for dinner on your own.

DAY NINE – Saturday, October 28 – Madrid

Breakfast at leisure. On our last day in Madrid, we’ll cover any of the highlights we have not seen yet and of course, you’ll have free time for independent exploring and shopping. Madrid is known for it’s. gorgeous parks and tree-lined wide boulevards. Lunch included. This evening it’s time to say goodbye to your fellow travelers and to Madrid. Gather for our wonderful farewell dinner.

DAY TEN – Sunday, October 29 – Madrid to USA or extend

Today we head back home with a heart full of fond memories of our time in Sweden & Spain. You’ll be transported to the airport for your flight home.
